Depression

Are you suffering from depression? Depression is thought by the medical community to be caused by an imbalance of the chemicals Serotonin and noradrenalin in the brain. This is partially true. But let’s take a look at the Eastern Philosophy on disease to see how we can treat this disorder holistically.

In the eastern traditions of Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine and more, we learn that all disease stems from a Emotional/Mental Belief system which then manifests as a blockage in the Spirit (aura, Human Energy Field), which then manifests in the physical body as disease. So when we heal the beliefs and feelings of a person related to their disorder, we in turn heal the disease. That’s not to say that diet, vitamins and minerals aren’t important in treating depression, as the really are; but it is also important to get to the root causes of depression that may be buried under layers of other beliefs and habits that you used to protect yourself at one time. Theta Healing, Reiki and Intuitive Counseling are very effective ways of figuring out what beliefs are in your subconscious mind and then clearing these beliefs and reprogramming them with positive, empowering beliefs.

For example, let’s say you were called a name by a friend at school when you were five years old. At that time you didn’t know how to cope with this so you took on the belief of “My friends hate me.” Well, if you believe that your friends hate you, you’re not going to be to excited about seeing your friends, connecting with them or sharing Love. You will have this filter that at some level you think all of your friends hate you which can lead you to a depressed state. So in a session, we would clear the program of “My friends hate me” and replace it with the program of “My friends Love me.” Now that this program has been changed to a more empowering, loving belief, you will be more open to connecting with your friends, creating a higher level of joy in your life.

Let’s take another belief. Say your Grandpa died when you were young. You were very close to him. When he died, you decided that it was not safe to Love others because they may leave you. This is a negative belief pattern that we need to clear out. So we clear it out, replace it with “It is safe to Love others”. You now will manifest Loving others as it is now safe for you to do so.

These are just two of many thousands of beliefs that may be behind your depression. In an Intuitive Counseling session, we dig to get to the bottom belief of a series of beliefs that are contributing to your disease. Imagine 30 blocks stacked on top of each other. When you pull out the bottom block, all of the blocks fall over. That is what happens in a healing session. When the bottom belief is cleared, it clears all the beliefs that were stacked on top of it, so in essence, clearing one belief could clear thousands of beliefs from your subconscious. Once these beliefs are cleared, it frees the energy in the Spirit (Energy Field) and then allows your body to heal itself. These healings are so powerful they can occur instantly. They don’t always occur instantly, but in many cases they do.

Heavy metal toxicity due to exposure and/or a build up of mercury, lead, cadmium and aluminum in the body can also contribute to depression. Each of these metals have belief systems that go with them, and once the belief systems are cleared, these toxins usually leave the body effortlessly. Saunas, Juice Fasting and more raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouts, seaweeds and Chlorella are very good ways to help detoxify the body of heavy metals. It works both ways, the less heavy metals in your body, the easier it is to “detoxify” the mind; and vice versa, the less negative beliefs in your mind, the easier it is to “detoxify” the body.

The last major cause of depression is a lack of proper amino acids. The three major amino acids linked to depression are tryptophan, tyrosine and phenylalanine. Tryptophan (highly popularized as what makes you sleep after you eat too much turkey) is actually the precursor to serotonin. Studies show that low levels of serotonin are linked to depression and insomnia. Tryptophan is destroyed when cooking your food, so make sure you get this from raw sources such as Raw Nuts (especially cashews, macadamia nuts and brazil nuts), Raw Seeds such as flax seeds, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, algaes such as spirulina, celery and sprouted lentils. Tyrosine is the precursor to dopamine, the neurotransmitter in the brain that makes you feel good. Tyrosine is also destroyed when cooking your food, so make sure you get it from raw sources such as avocados, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds or blue-green algae. Phenylalanine is the precursor to PEA, the hormone produced when you are in love. PEA is associated with feelings of bliss and ecstacy. The best superfood sources of phenylalanine are spirulina and blue-green algae. The best raw food sources of phenylalnine are almonds, apples, tomatoes, spinach and pineapples. Increase these foods in your diet and watch your mood soar!
